Dear ACE Academy Families,

I am writing with sincere regret to inform families of an important update regarding our Fall programming.

Fall League Status I am pleased to confirm that we have successfully secured gym time to continue our competitive Fall League program for our older players as planned.

Fall Academy Cancellation Unfortunately, I must inform you that we will not be able to run our Fall Academy this season. Despite our best efforts to secure adequate facility time, we have encountered significant challenges:

• Our initial application submitted in June was rejected
• We subsequently applied for gym time at an alternative school to accommodate our older players, but this application was also denied despite the facility being available and unused
• Following this second rejection, we immediately resubmitted our request to Mission Hill before summer break, but have not received a response despite multiple follow-up attempts

I had hoped to delay this announcement until receiving final confirmation, but with the school year beginning and families understandably eager for updates, I feel it is important to provide clarity on our situation.

Impact on ACE Hoops Program I want to be transparent about the significant impact this will have on our program. The Fall Academy has been a cornerstone of our basketball development system for younger players, and its absence creates substantial challenges for the future of ACE Hoops. Without reliable access to gymnasium facilities, I am currently evaluating the long-term viability of continuing the basketball program beyond the competitive Fall League for our older players.

Moving Forward While I remain committed to our older players in the competitive Fall League, the facility constraints have forced me to make difficult decisions about our program’s future, particularly for our younger academy participants. I am deeply passionate about working with young athletes and helping them develop both their skills and character. However, the ongoing uncertainty around facility access makes it increasingly difficult to provide the consistent, high-quality programming our families deserve.

There have been preliminary discussions about community members potentially stepping forward to assume leadership of the program, though no definitive arrangements have been made. Should this opportunity materialize, we will work to ensure program continuity.

This experience has reinforced my long-term goal of establishing our own dedicated facility to provide stable, reliable programming for our basketball community.
