A Message from Coach On

About ACE Hoops

Our Story and Mission

Our Story

Coach On with his family

How It Started

ACE Hoops began as a labor of love. Coach On launched this program with a simple mission - to provide a basketball program for his daughters so they would have a team to play on in Vernon.

What started as a father's dedication to his children's athletic development quickly resonated throughout the community.

The Growing Demand

As word spread, interest grew rapidly. Other parents began asking Coach On to start club teams for different age groups. The community's enthusiasm for quality youth basketball was overwhelming.

Unfortunately, the demand became too high. Coach On couldn't manage this basketball passion alone while maintaining his family life. A difficult decision had to be made.

The Community Solution

ACE Hoops is now pivoting into a community basketball platform where local parents with the same vision can operate teams for their kids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can play in the Winter League?

+

The Winter League is open to boys in grades 6-9 and girls in grades 7-10. We run a co-ed league format with balanced teams. Players should be looking for competitive basketball beyond their school season.

My child is very new to basketball, can I still sign them up?

+

If this is your child's first time playing organized basketball, this league is not the right fit. We recommend starting with academy training first to build confidence and fundamental skills. Check out Taya's Academy at tayahoops.com for excellent beginner programs.

How much does it cost?

+

Early Bird: $400 + GST (before December 1st)
Regular: $450 + GST (after December 1st)

This includes all practices, games, referees, livestreaming, stats tracking, and awards.

When and where are games and practices?

+

All sessions take place at Beairsto School:
Evaluation Camp: Monday, Jan 5 (5:00-7:00 PM) - All players
Practices: Mondays (Jan 12, 19, 26 • Feb 2, 9, 23 • Mar 2, 9) - Team 1 & 2 (5:00-6:20 PM), Team 3 & 4 (6:20-7:40 PM)
Games: Every Wednesday (5:00 PM and 6:10 PM)
Season: January 5 - March 10, 2026

What makes ACE Hoops different?

+

We focus on evidence-based coaching with film review, strategic counters, and real-time adjustments. Coach On brings a CLA-style approach that develops basketball IQ, not just skills. Plus: livestreaming, detailed stats, playoffs, and awards ceremony.

What is 4x4 basketball?

+

4-on-4 basketball gives players more touches, more space, and more decisions. With fewer players on the court, everyone gets more opportunities to handle the ball, make reads, and develop their game in real competitive situations.

How are teams selected?

+

Teams are selected by the coaches and balanced by grade level and skill to ensure competitive, fair games throughout the season. We aim for 7 players per team with a mix of experience levels to create the best learning environment.

Can parents watch the games?

+

Absolutely! Parents are welcome to attend all games and practices. We also livestream every game and share private links so family members can watch remotely if they can't make it in person.

What if my child plays school basketball?

+

Perfect! The Winter League is designed for players who want more challenge and development. Many of our athletes play school ball and use ACE Hoops to get extra games, advanced coaching, and continuous improvement during the season. For grade 6-7 players, there's no conflict - school basketball ends by 4:30PM, so you can participate in both.

I registered my child but never got a confirmation email

+

If you registered your child on our website and received visual confirmation, it means they are registered successfully. We are currently fixing our email confirmation system, so you may not receive an email right away. Rest assured your registration is complete!
