Parent Commitment & Conduct Agreement
In order for this team to succeed, we need players, coaches, and parents all on the same page.
This is our #1 rule. I understand that coaches coach, players play, and parents cheer.
I will not coach from the sidelines by yelling things such as:
- Shoot!
- Dribble!
- Pass!
- Cut!
- Defense!
- Or any other game instructions
I understand sideline coaching creates confusion, takes players out of team concepts, and can hurt player confidence.
I will show respect toward:
- Coaches
- Players
- Referees
- Volunteers
- Other parents
- Tournament staff
I will not:
- Yell at referees
- Yell at players
- Criticize coaches during games
- Create negative scenes in front of athletes
I understand negative conversations on the sidelines, behind benches, in parking lots, group chats, or with other parents can destroy team chemistry and atmosphere.
I will not:
- Gossip
- Complain constantly
- Spread negativity
- Create division
- Undermine coaches or players
If I have concerns involving coaches, playing time, team decisions, other players, other parents, or any incidents — I agree to follow this process:
I agree not to approach coaches emotionally during or immediately after games.
After any significant incident, concern, or emotional situation:
I understand emotions should never be the deciding factor. Our goal is to solve problems, not create bigger ones.
I understand ACE Hoops is building something bigger than wins and losses. We are teaching:
- Accountability
- Leadership
- Toughness
- Teamwork
- Confidence
- Playing the game the right way
I agree to support this culture.
Running a successful team takes a village. Parents may be asked to help with:
- Scorekeeping
- Shot clock
- Livestream / stat tracking
- Fundraising
- Team events
- Travel organization
- Other game day duties
I understand:
- Coaches make decisions based on what is best for the team.
- Playing time is earned, not guaranteed.
- Development is a process.
I agree to trust the coaching staff.
I understand repeated violations such as sideline coaching, negative behavior, public criticism, disrespect toward officials, players, coaches, or parents, or creating division within the team may result in:
- Verbal warning
- Parent meeting
- Removal from team activities
- Player being removed from the ACE Hoops program
